Need to Know: 12441.14 crore only on travelling in just four years???

People always point out the traveling of the Hon'ble prime minister Narendra Modi Ji, but it's not only about him.
A recent RTI reply by Department of Expenditure shows that the expenditure on account of traveling expenses of the union government of India for the last 4 years is approximately 12441.14 crores!!
Shocking?
But this is a truth. According to the Department of Expenditure, the active government has spent Rs. 2764.08, Rs. 2911.68, Rs. 3262.97 and Rs. 3502.41 in the years 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18 respectively.
