Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani Launches Ghogha-Dahej Ro-Pax ferry services
On Saturday, Gujarat Chief Minister splashing good news on the people, Vijay Rupani - Chief Minister of Gujarat inaugurates the Ghogha-Dahej Ro-Pax ferry service in the state. The Ro-Pax ferry service linked Ghogha in Saurashtra & Dahej in South Gujarat through the Gulf of Khambhat.
Last year in October ahead of Gujarat Assembly polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged of a "passenger only" ferry on the route.
On Sunday, Ro-Pax ferry service flagged off from Ghogha's RORO terminal, Bhavnagar. The Ro-Pax service will encourage tourism and it will ensure fuel while retrenchment of transportation costs at the same time & beget employment chances.
Mr. Rupani also traveled on Ro-Pax ferry which drop-off the distance of 300 kilometers to 30 kilometers between Ghogha and Dahej via sea route & minify the traveling time from 10-12 hours (by road) to 1.5 hours (by sea) and Vijay Rupani announced to ferry service would be elongated to Mumbai. Rupani said the state will also lookup possibilities of linking Kutch to Dwarka, Porbandar & Somnath via sea route using moorage.
On its inauguration, mostly passenger is guest of the State government or the BJP.
CM Vijay Rupani announced, "We will commence passenger service from Hazira to Ghogha & prolong the service till Mumbai. I'm positive that looking at the online booking & response & have to raise the number of seats.
Gujarat can build up coastal infrastructure with a 1600 kilometer coastline & bring about economic development.
President of Gujarat Industries Federation Nitin Mankad said the Ghogha-Dahej & Dahej-Hazira ferry service will help business development & bait entrepreneur to set up factories.
