Man arrested for triple talaq
On this Wednesday, 24th Of October a 32-year-old man was arrested for giving divorce to his wife by saying 'triple talaq' which was reportedly banned in India. The man belongs from Jhabua in Madhya Pradesh.
Arif Hussain who was alleged to practice triple talaq was registered under the protection of rights on Marriage by the Muslim wife who filed the FIR in Meghnagar police station on 23rd October 2018.
Mahesh Chandra Jain the superintendent of Police said, He was also charged with IPC section 498(A) as well as 323 which meant cruelty against women by husband or in-laws and hurting the women respectively.
Kushal Singh Rawat was the police in-charge for arresting the accused of the case.
The complaint filed also mentioned that the couple got married before 10 years in 2008. Everyone was very good for the next two years of marriage. Then she put up wait after giving birth to two children which led everyone in the family to dislike her. She also said her husband and in-laws bet her for some trivial reasons.
On 11th October, she was droved out of her home by his husband and mother in law who forced her to go to her brother's home. On 12th October they visited her brother's home where he divorced her by saying 'talaq' three times.
This case is the first case of triple talaq in the state of Madhya Pradesh. After the court banned the law on August of 2018. And said these allegations if proved true will give a jail term of three years to the man.
