Alok Verma continues in CBI..!!
Recently CBI director Mr. Alok Verma and Deputy Rakesh Asthana were asked to stop working in CBI after they were alleged for involving in giving bribe but on 25th October it was clarified that Alok Verma will continue his position as Chief in the agency and Asthana will continue as a special director.
Abhishek Dayal the CBI spokesperson said, "Alok Verma will remain the director of CBI and Asthana will remain the special director."
He also said, " The duty of an interim director was handled by M Nageshwar Rao until the CVC Chief Vigilance Commission investigates the case."
This clarifies that both Alok Verma as well as Rakesh Asthana will not be responsible to perform their duties as well as responsibility as a member of CBI. But will be authorized for the pay and all their perks.
This decision was taken by the CVC because Alok Verma was not supporting the investigators in the process against the allegations of corruption and criminal deed filed by Rakesh Asthana. And everything will be "only fair" when both will be taken off from their respective duties until they get a clean chit.
This decision was made into action on 23rd of October and after that Rao was given the charges who transferred Ak Sharma, DIG Manoj Sinha, DSP Ajay Bassi and 13 others officers to scrutinizing Rakesh Asthana.
While that the director Alok Verma was taken off from his responsibilities as well as duties for his agency he was reportedly working high profile cases like Rafale fighter aircraft deal and much more crucial case.
Prashant Bhushan along with union minister Arun Shourie had submitted the complete tactful complaints to CBI director Mr. Alok Verma on 4th of October 2018. The complaint referred to the allegations of corruption in the 36 Rafale aircraft deal with France.
Along with the complaint Mr. Bhusan, as well as Mr. Shourie, also renders the case with the documents which adds authentication to their allegation.
The CBI spokesperson said, " This is being manufactured by vested interests. Every file in CBI at each level is accounted for."
