Knock knock - World Cup Arrived!!

Ipseeta Das (Delhi) - The 14th edition of Men's Hockey World Cup 2018 advent in Bhubaneshwar just in few weeks. Whole capital is all geared up for that momentous occasion which is scheduled to take place from November 28 to December 16. On showery Wednesday, Naveen Patnaik-Chief Minister of Odisha inaugurate young & newfangled Kalinga Stadium which hold world class upgrades over past few weeks. With an aspire to offer best sports infrastructures, the Odisha government recast Kalinga Stadium into an international sports complex providing all kind of sports facilities. Also, some salient features are the capability of stadium has been upped from 7500 earlier to 15,000 now adding two new galleries at the main arena of the stadium for the spectators, four dressing rooms, upgraded flood light system & the new press as well as hospitality box. Now, CM Naveen Patnaik shuffle Kalinga Stadium into one of the premier destinations for sporting event in the world.

Odisha is famed as "Cradle of Hockey" having given many star hockey player to our nation including Dilip Tirkey. who is presently Chairperson of Odisha Tourism Development Corporation.

Sixteen nation will take part in the tournament which will see each team play three matches during the league stage over the span of twelve days before four crossover matches takes place on 10th & 11th December, 2018. The knockout matches will take place on 12th, 13th, 15th & 16th as the team will look up as become the Champions of the prestigious quadrennial event which was won by Australia in 2014.

Also a part of inaugural ceremony, India's former captain Dhanraj Pillay & Chairperson of Odisha Tourism Development Corporation- Dilip Tirkey led their respective teams comprising of the current stars of team India delighted fans with an exhibition match & Hockey legend Sandeep Singh will make warmer atmosphere with providing special match commentary.  It was a prominent chance for the younger players to play along with their heroes.

The teams in a gleeful mood after exhibition match between Dil XI & Dhan XI. Dil XI won the match by 2-1. The match ended with team Dilip Tirkey edging out team Dhanraj Pillay. On 10th October 2018, Exhibition match at Kalinga Stadium brought back lump of memories of our former hockey legends.

The opening ceremony of world cup is scheduled on 27th November & Mr. Shah Rukh Khan is all set to  add spice in opening ceremony & support team india in Men's Hockey World Cup at Kalinga Stadium.

When Indian player Manpreet Singh goading the Actor to cheer team India on Srk Twitter handler. Responding to a video shared by Manpreet Singh, Mr. Shah Rukh Khan confirming his presence in the mega event. In school days, SRK used to play hockey & also played a hockey coach in movie "Chak De! India".
